Nigeria’s John Obi Mikel is predicting a bright future for Chelsea after watching the club’s youngsters dazzle for the England U-21 team in their last outing.
Busy final day of matches in the first international break of the new season saw several Chelsea players put in stellar performances as Mikel also led the Super Eagles to a slim win over Tanzania
Mikel was thrilled with the trio of Nathaniel Chalobah, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Lewis Baker, all three of whom started and all three of whom scored as England U21 dismantled Norway.
The other three goals were scored by Marcus Rashford, making his debut at U21 level after already making his debut at senior level.
Mikel who has spent over a decade at Chelsea is confident the new breed of players in the ranks of the Blues will sustain the legacy of the London club.
Congrats to @lew_baker, @chalobah & @rubey_lcheek on your goals last night! ⚽ Future is looking bright for #CFC ????⚪☀— Mikel John Obi (@mikel_john_obi) September 7, 2016
