Iheanacho,Iwobi make list of top 50 players in Europe

Nigeria internationals Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho have been named among the top 50 players under the age of 20 in Europe by British newspaper, Metro.
Iwobi and Iheanacho, who play for Arsenal and Manchester City respectively in the Premier League have shown huge promise since getting their breaks last season, and they both went on to have a great first season in the Premier League last term.
Iwobi is rated as the 17th best player under the age of 20 in the list, and the Metro newspaper went on to write this about him: “Iwobi made an excellent impact for The Gunners last season and forced himself in front of Theo Walcott in the pecking order.
“After pledging his international future to Nigeria, he could prove to be the one that got away for England in years to come.”
Although the 20-year old has only just resumed training with the Gunners after suffering hamstring injury in their opening Premier League game against Liverpool.
On Iheanacho’s part, the level of confidence new City boss has in him cannot be overemphasized and obvious in the fact that they let the more experienced Wilfried Bony leave on loan.
With Sergio Aguero suspended for the Manchester derby on Saturday, the 19-year old former Nigeria U17 star could lead the line for City at Old Trafford.
He is ranked as the 11th best player within the age category in Europe and as a testament to his quality, the Metro wrote: “The Nigerian has already shown he has an eye for goal but his all-round game is very impressive too.
“Often trusted ahead of the experienced Wilfried Bony, City rate Iheanacho very highly and Pep Guardiola will have no reservations about trusting him next season.”
Iheanacho has also been proving his mettle with the Super Eagles, as his wonder-strike secured win for the former African champions against Tanzania in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier last weekend, even though they still failed to qualify.
